Gregory Frederic painted 10 windows that were auctioned off at Windows For A Cause 2016 & 2017!

Tundraland Home Improvements’ 2 Annual Windows for a Cause art auction event was on Tuesday, April 25th, 2017 at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.

Windows for a Cause is an annual fundraiser that combines passionate communities with artistic talents from all over the state to raise money for deserving families and individuals. The event launched in 2016 after recognizing an opportunity to significantly reduce landfill waste. After Tundraland professionals install new windows in a home the old windows are usually thrown away, sending thousands of windows to the landfill. Instead of continuing to throw away these old windows, we collaborate with hundreds of artists, organizations and community figures to creatively turn the old windows into art pieces. The works of art are then displayed and auctioned off. All proceeds from the event are used to make a positive impact in the life of a deserving family or individual.

The 2016 event raised $15,000 which made it possible to purchase a state of the art power wheelchair for John Green, a veteran suffering from Multiple Sclerosis for over 40 years. The wheelchair functionality is able to bring John from a sitting position to a standing position allowing him to stand for the first time in four decades.

All proceeds from Windows for a Cause 2017 were used to send 4 year old Delilah Presley along with her family on an all expense paid vacation to Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida. Delilah was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation in November of 2015 at the age of two. Chiari Malformation is a condition cause by a structural defect in the cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls balance. A Chiari malformation occurs when the lower portion of the brain pushes into the spinal canal. The resulting pressure on the cerebellum and brain stem may affect functions controlled by these areas and block the flow of spinal fluid to and from the brain. Delilah has been diagnosed with additional conditions due to a result from her advanced form of Chiari. Because of her advanced case Delilah is at risk for paralysis and other damage to her basic bodily functions such as breathing, regulatory heart rate, swallowing, blood pressure regulation. In July of 2016 Delilah underwent skull, spine and brain surgery to create more room for her brain, in hopes of restoring normal spinal fluid flow but the surgery was unsuccessful.

Delilah awaits a second brain surgery to be scheduled for 2017.
